SoSo Supports Motorcycle Training Schools

SoSo Cycles is proud to provide fleets of BMW G 310 R motorcycles to authorized motorcycles training operations. In Washington state, SoSo partners with schools that offer the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s (MSF’s) Basic RiderCourse and in California we work with schools that conduct California Motorcycle Safety Program (CMSP) Motorcyclist Training Course (MTC). The acronyms can be a little overwhelming but the way that these operators approach teaching people to ride motorcycles is very simple and straightforward. If you have been thinking about getting into riding but don’t know where to start, we highly recommend contacting one of the schools listed at the bottom of this page and enrolling in their training courses.

But you want to know what’s up with all of these training bikes that are available for sale at all SoSo Cycles locations, so here’s the rundown.

We provide brand new BMW G 310 Rs to the schools we work with. Some schools ask that we install engine protection bars, handguards, muffler protectors and/or aftermarket turn indicators on the bikes before we deliver them and some schools just want the bikes completely stock with no modifications. Either way the bikes have less than 10 miles when delivered to the training providers and are in pristine condition overall.

But you want to know what’s up with all of these training bikes that are available for sale at all SoSo Cycles locations, so here’s the rundown.

The schools then use these BMW G 310 Rs for three to six months before we rotate the fleet out and provide the schools with a new batch of bikes. When we take bikes back from training school operators we inspect them and replace any operational or safety-related components that may have been damaged while in service at the school. We don’t immediately replace all cosmetic damage as sometimes a panel may be rubbed or scuffed but not in a significant manner. Instead, we price the fleet of BMW G 310 Rs accordingly so the cleanest for a little more money than units with a little more wear. All of the training school motorcycles are then serviced if they are in need of break-in or routine maintenance so they’re hassle-free for their new owners.

Once the bikes have been reconditioned as needed, we put them on our sales floors to sell at discounted prices and they move quickly. These BMW G310Rs are ideal starter bikes as they offer a freeway-capable, lightweight, ABS (anti-lock brake)-equipped, quality motorcycle at a tremendous price. Plus, BMW Motorrad USA provides additional incentives to people that complete a basic rider course and then purchase a new BMW Motorcycle, including one of these former training bikes, within 90 days of course completion.

If you need gear, BMW Motorrad USA will contribute up to $500 towards the purchase of BMW Motorrad Rider’s Gear (must be purchased simultaneously with motorcycle). Additionally, if you buy a new BMW and provide us with a receipt from your training course, BMW Motorrad USA will even give you a credit towards your new bike equivalent to the basic training course fee you paid the school (up to $350).
